TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE TERRITORY ARE KEY TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES IN THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY

With the recent arrival of the Argentinian company Havanna in the province of Valencia, engineering firms are consolidating their position as a gateway for multinational companies to the Valencian Community. This is the case, for example, of Vielca Ingenieros, which has become a key partner for large international companies that choose the Valencian Community as their investment destination.

The Valencian firm actively participates in highly relevant projects, such as the development of PowerCo’s Strategic Territorial Project (PTE) or the comprehensive management of Havanna’s new facilities in Picassent.

In both cases, acknowledges Vicente Candela, CEO of Vielca Ingenieros, “technical expertise and in-depth local knowledge have been crucial in facilitating the implementation of these strategic initiatives.” But there is another decisive factor: “Having our own multidisciplinary team, and not having to subcontract services or use intermediaries, provides an undeniable competitive advantage that these large multinationals highly value. This allows us to cover all phases of the process, from beginning to end: finding the right location, studying and adapting to regulations, designing the construction project, and later managing the construction.”

Two international bets for two different sectors

The engineering firm based in Valencia has played a prominent role in the arrival and development of projects for two top-tier multinational companies.

In Sagunto, the firm designed the Strategic Territorial Project (PTE) for PowerCo’s battery plant, an initiative considered fundamental for boosting the industrial ecosystem linked to electric mobility. This engineering firm’s work has been essential in defining the project’s technical and urban planning feasibility, ensuring its sustainable integration into the territory. The legal and technical aspects have played a significant role. Their involvement also includes permitting services (obtaining all types of permits), as well as managing the Integrated Environmental Authorization approved by the Regional Ministry of the Environment.

Changing sectors entirely, Vielca Ingenieros has developed the project, managed the construction, permits, and paperwork for the new facilities of the Argentinian firm Havanna in Picassent, handling technical supervision and quality control throughout all phases of the project. The plant, dedicated to the production of food products (artisanal alfajores), represents a significant investment and a new boost for the area’s industrial sector.

The multinational’s first plant in Europe will allow it to optimize the distribution of its products in Europe and Asia starting in the first half of next year. The project includes a complete renovation of the existing building and the development of a nearly 3,000-square-meter plot. A comprehensive engineering and consulting contract will provide services from the outset, encompassing permitting, legalization, and execution of the installation and architectural design to adapt the existing building, as well as construction supervision and management. This integrated approach includes all necessary procedures and paperwork with various government agencies and organizations.

Strategic ally

With these projects and others currently in the drafting phase, Valencian engineering consolidates its position as a trusted partner for companies that choose the Valencian Community to grow their business, contributing its technical knowledge, experience in territorial planning and commitment to sustainable development.

As Candela explains, her work focuses on “facilitating the efficient and sustainable implementation of large investments, aligned with the needs of the region.” In this regard, she adds, “intervening with government agencies to adapt the numerous laws, regulations, and requirements to the realities of these projects is crucial. We’re talking about highly complex projects that must be developed quickly, within a sometimes very complicated European legal framework.”

These two collaborations reflect the ability of this company, with 100% Valencian capital, to support international players throughout all phases of their implementation and subsequent operation, contributing to the economic growth and international projection of the Valencian Community.
