The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), through its expert team from Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. and in coordination with VIELCA Ingenieros S.A. (El Salvador Branch), is carrying out the “Development of the Bridge Management Database System in El Salvador” project as part of a technical cooperation initiative for institutional strengthening.
The scope of work covers the design, development, implementation, and consolidation of a Bridge Management System (BMS), comprising a mobile application for field use by inspectors—developed using PWA architecture and programmed in PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript for the frontend—complemented by a web platform.

Supervision of Construction:
The services provided for the development of the Bridge Management System in El Salvador comprise a comprehensive set of activities, ranging from the initial design and planning stage—through the development and implementation of the technological solution—to training, support, and the final consolidation of the system.
The activities carried out are:
- Software and database development.
- Digitization and systematization of information.
- Training and knowledge transfer.
- Maintenance and technical support.
- Institutional management and coordination; collaborative work among MOPT, JICA, and Nippon Koei.
