This document defines and develops the works corresponding to the PRELIMINARY PROJECT FOR IMPROVING ACCESSES TO THE NEW RAILWAY PORT OF SAN VICENTE DEL RASPEIG (ALICANTE) based on the solution obtained from the STUDY OF SOLUTIONS FOR IMPROVING ACCESS TO THE NEW RAILWAY PORT OF SAN VICENTE DEL RASPEIG (ALICANTE) drafted by the company VIELCA INGENIEROS, S.A. as the starting point of this preliminary project.
This will be followed by a presentation of the main features of the designed round, explaining both the route characteristics and the various networks that have been designed and the implications for current services.
In summary, the action consists of:
- A new perimeter road to San Vicente del Raspeig in the form of Ronda Oeste, which will serve as access to the new “centre” stop of San Vicente del Raspeig. The round will link the current roundabout of the Carretera de Agost (Glorieta 1, which will be remodeled) with the roundabout of the Fire Park passing parallel to the railway tracks.
- The road will be redrawn for most of its development, except for some sections such as the embankment road and the station promenade, where it will be a widening of the current carriageway, moving from one lane per direction to two lanes per direction of circulation with intermediate middle.
- The initial roundabout of the road of Agost (Route 1) and the roundabout at the end of the round at the C\ Mayor (Route 6) will be modified, widening in the latter the ring road to two lanes.
- Four new roundabouts will be executed in the layout of the new road, to solve all the turns to the left and connecting with the rest of the streets that reach it.
- The works present the following singular works:
– A new upper step on the C\ Poeta Miguel Hernández by recreating the stirrups of the current step and the execution of a new slab type board wide enough for the proposed type section.
– A new underpass of the railway line by means of a straight prefabricated reinforced concrete frame underneath the railway line, to link the road to Agost with the Alcoraya road. - The works are completed with the different junctions with each of the streets that lead to the roundabout, the execution of a small entrance road to the underpass of the Avenida del País Valenciano, the widening of one to two lanes from the entrance to the roundabout of Firefighters from the C\ Mayor, the execution of a direct right turn between the roundabout San Vicente – San Juan with the C\ Mayor and the continuity of the cycle lane of that roundabout.
