ELABORACIÓN DEL SISTEMA DE DATOS FORESTALES DE REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA
Vielca elaboró el sistema de gestión de datos forestales del país, creando una base de datos integrada, unos formularios para introducir información, automatizando cálculos de carbono según la Convención Marco de Naciones Unidas y mostrando datos gráficos y geográficos. Todo ello se publicó en un portal web con un kit de documentación y e-learning.
ELABORACIÓN DEL SISTEMA DE DATOS FORESTALES (FIS) DE BELICE
Los sistemas de gestión de datos forestales son claves para la correcta gestión de los recursos forestales. En esta ocasión, Vielca apoyó al Ministerio de Medio Ambiente de este país para crear una aplicación informática que sustituyera las hojas de cálculo preexistentes, mejorando en integración y tecnología.
USO DE COLLECT EARTH ONLINE PARA FOTOINTERPRETACIÓN EN LAS VERAPACES (GUATEMALA)
Vielca llevó a cabo un servicio de uso de Collect Earth Online, software de fotointerpretación, para analizar cambios de uso del suelo (principalmente degradación forestal y deforestación) en la región de Las Verapaces, en Guatemala.
REALIZACIÓN DE MAPATÓN CON COLLECT EARTH Y PROCESAMIENTO DE DATOS.
Vielca planificó, coordinó y ejecutó una mapatón (toma de datos) para cuantificar cambios de uso del suelo, con apoyo de actores sociales locales. La singularidad de este servicio es que la aMAPATON_ctividad, de varios días de duración, tuvo lugar in situ, en la selva de Bosawás, en Nicaragua.
